Favorite Piece of Advice
- Love the hair God gave you. It may not be where you want it to be, or it may not look the way you’d like, but if you don’t learn to love it, you’ll never take the necessary steps to care for it, improve it, and truly make it your own.
- Stay consistent with maintenance. Part of loving and appreciating your hair is keeping it clean, healthy, and well-maintained. Create a routine that includes a wash day, a haircut day, and—if you wear longer hairstyles—a retwist day. Also, develop a daily or nightly routine for moisturizing and applying oils to keep your hair and scalp healthy.
- Appreciate your hair while you have it. The reality is that, as we get older, many of us will experience some degree of hair loss. That’s why it’s important to take care of your hair now. Enjoy it while you have it, and don’t be afraid to take pictures and videos along the way. Nothing in life is guaranteed, and for many people, a full head of hair is one of those things we shouldn’t take for granted.
