Sorry if this is hard to read, recovering from surgery. So there's this girl at my school. She's always talking about how she's a rebel and how girls are just so hard to understand. But she also does tend to hang out with girls and is not really putting people down. Is she a pick me?

The 'pick me' personality style is commonly associated with being the center of attention or the highly favored. Many individuals with this personality style are known to be chameleons, camouflaging to blend in or strikingly stand out. It is not uncommon for these individuals to have an undeniable need for validation and affirmation of their personal worth. Given that this personality style is so wishy-washy, they may deny their own interests, desires, and beliefs for those of another. It is not uncommon for these individuals to have low self-esteem, self-worth, and self-image. Nevertheless, the cloak of the chameleon may not only compromise but also prove a source of manipulation and an instrument to garner attention or favor. Ultimately, the “pick me” personality wants to be the center of attention, validated, and considered favorable.

if you need to say you're a "rebel" and not for any reason you are DEFINITLY not a rebel she mightttttttt need to read the hunger games and understand what a rebel is (not a great example i know) she is Definity a pick me

No I don't believe so! As a teenager, and a girl, I hang out with girls and they are hard to understand! But so are guys! People are hard to understand in general, this could just be them exaggerating or trying to be funny.

How do you spot a pick me girl?
So, I have a little sister who occasionally refers to one of her friends as a “pick me” girl. Google says this is someone who seeks out male validation to a kind of a silly level, but that doesn’t really seem like it encompasses everything? I’ve asked my sister about it but she’s kind of evasive and not very good at explaining what she means. Is this a slur? Is that why my sister is kind of flighty about it? Someone break it down for me!

Are Tomboys Considered Pick Me's and Why?
Like I know girls who dress as boys or at least wear boy-ish outfits, and like certain things that guys do, but it's not because they want to seek attention, or because they want to be "one of the boys" and be included with the guys' group all the time. They constantly, however get called a pick me, which personally I find is kind of insulting and stuff just because usually they don't intend to be that type of person. I'm just curious on why they're considered pick me's when they're not.

I don't know whether i should end my friendship or not
I don't know what to do. There is a friend I have and we are at the same class together. But she is encouraging me to rebel against everyone, when she arrives at school everyday she is always several hours late or even doesn't come at all 1 or 2 times a week. I don't know whether I should end my friendship or not. Please help me.

Is it toxic to think that drama is just a part of life? Toxic would be like, actively manipulating people or harming others for your own gain. How do you know if someone likes you? There’s this girl at school I like, and I think she likes me, but I can’t really tell. I don’t want to ask her to be my girlfriend if she’s just going to say no. Do I ask her if she likes me over text? Or do I just look for big signs?

Flirting or Flirty personality?
I’m in high school and there’s a guy I’ve known since second grade (small town) and we’ve always had major beef! We’re both very smart and used to argue a lot about everything. But last year something changed and we just… stopped. We started joking around and playing games and being peacefully competitive. We’ve had tons of moments that felt really tense and potentially even flirty and then shortly after those events what happened he would ask me for some random dumb favor and he would like trust me with his cell phone or his earbuds or I would trust him with mine and nothing would happen. Just dumb stuff like that or you would make a suggestive type joke and then flex but also he flexes after he says everything or just in conversation. He also would like tell me about his PR’s in the gym (which always made me feel better about myself because you could always live more than I weigh). But like he does that for others too, so I’m not sure what to do. What he’s saying is firmly in the flirty category but I’m unsure if it’s because he’s interested or if he’s just like that. I also don’t know if I should keep trying or give it up. What do I do?
