Before you style your hair, apply leave-in conditioner to your hair and smooth down any stray baby hairs. -
QuestionHow much is "a generous amount"?
Community AnswerIt depends on your hair type and length. If you hair is longer and/or thicker, apply more of the product. I recommend starting with less because you can always add more; however, if you add too much, your hair will appear oily and unwashed. -
QuestionWhere can I find sea salt spray?
Community AnswerIf you cannot find it where hair products are sold (pharmacies, supermarket, hair salons, etc.), then you can make your own. To do this, take an empty spray bottle, 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water, 2 teaspoons of sea salt, and 3-4 drops of lavender essential oil. Mix together, pour into a clean sprayer bottle and use as needed. -
QuestionHow do you get the wet hair look natural?
Drew Hawkins1Community AnswerThe key to achieving the wet hair look is to apply the right product to healthy hair. Start by washing your hair and then dry it until it's just damp. Then, spray some sea salt spray into your hair to help create waves. You can be generous with it, but don't go too much past damp. If your hair tends to be flyaway or frizzy, apply some frizz control product to help control it. Choose a natural hair product such as styling wax and apply a generous amount to your fingers. Then, run your fingers through your roots with your fingertips, which will help with volume, and hit the pieces that float around your face. After that, you can comb your hair straight back for a slick back look. To help keep the look in place, spray it lightly with a flexible hairspray. If you want extra gloss, use a shine spray. -
QuestionHow do you get wet looking waves?
Drew Hawkins1Community AnswerWash your hair and dry it so it's still slightly damp. Then spray on some sea salt spray to start creating waves. Then, separate your hair into sections, and begin applying hair styling wax throughout the hair. Use a generous amount. You want your hair pretty much soaked in the wax. If your hair is naturally wavy, wait until it's dry before you scrunch it. If it's naturally straight, scrunch it while it's still damp to help add waves. Tilt your head to one side and scrunch it towards your head, or use the diffuser attachment on your blow dryer to scrunch and curl the hair. To help keep the look in place, spray your hair lightly with a flexible hairspray and you're all set! -
QuestionWhat product gives your hair a wet look?
Drew Hawkins1Community AnswerThe key to achieving a wet look with your hair is really how you apply the product, not necessarily which product you use. Start with damp hair, but make sure it isn't soaked or your product may not stick. If it's not wet enough, it's more difficult to create the wet look. Then, apply a generous amount of hair styling wax from your roots to the ends of your hair. Finish the ends of your hair with gel, which will help prevent flyaways. If you want a wet ponytail look, comb in pomade section by section until you've covered all of the hair. But if you want to leave your hair down, work the pomade into the roots with your fingers. If you want waves in your wet hair look, use your hands to scrunch your hair. For a sleek look, comb your hair straight back, but make sure to leave the pomade, gel, or wax off the bottom of the hair so it has some movement. If you want to add some style and sophistication to your wet hair look, use the pointed end of a rattail comb to part your hair to the side. Once you're finished styling your hair, spray it lightly with a flexible hairspray to help hold it in place.
