Adding an Avatar in Roblox Studio
Steps
-
Install the Insert Avatar plugin. To do so, go to the Insert Avatar plugin page and click Get Plugin. The plugin will be added to Roblox Studio immediately.
- If you don't see the plugin after installing, simply close and reopen Roblox Studio.
-
2Click the Plugins tab. It's at the top of Roblox Studio. If you don't have Roblox Studio open, open it now.Advertisement
-
3Click Local Char. It's at the top of the screen, in the "Insert Avatar" section. Clicking this button will add your own Roblox avatar into Roblox Studio.
-
4Click Insert Friend. This will open a list of all of your Roblox friends. If you have a lot of friends, this menu will be very large! Avatars in a Team Create session with you and characters you've favorited will also show up in this menu.
-
5Click on a name on the list to add their avatar to Roblox Studio. The avatar will be added into the Roblox Studio workspace.
-
6Click Advanced Insert. This will open a window that says "Insert Avatar" with a picture of an avatar and some other options.
-
7Choose your options. There are a few options you can select. Changing these options will also affect the avatars you load in using Local Char and Insert Friend.
- R6: Loads an older R6 model of the selected user.
- R15: Loads a newer R15 model of the selected user.
- R15 Classic: Loads an R15 model at the same dimensions of an R6 model.
- Point Origin: Loads the character at 0, 0, 0 coordinates.
- Use DisplayName: Adds a display name of the user over the model.
- Keep Scripts: Selecting this keeps any default Roblox character scripts the model has.
-
8Search for a user. In the black bar under the options, you can type a username. You can type any Roblox username here.
-
9Click Insert Avatar. If you want to add this user to the "Insert Friend" list, click the star next to the Insert Avatar button.[1]
-
1Install the Load Character Pro plugin. To install this plugin, go to the Load Character Pro plugin page and click Buy for $4.99. After purchase, the plugin will be immediately added to your Roblox Studio.[2]
- If you don't see the plugin after installing, simply close and reopen Roblox Studio.
- The free version of the Load Character plugin, Load Character Lite, is no longer supported.
-
2Click the Plugins tab. It's at the top of Roblox Studio. If you don't have Roblox Studio open, open it now.
-
3Click on Load Character. It's in a section that says "AlreadyPro's Plugins."
-
4Type the username of the avatar you want to add. Once you click on Load Character, you'll see a box pop up. In that box is a picture of an avatar, then under that is a white box. In that white box, type the name of the account you want to load the avatar of. If you want to use your own avatar, type your own username.
-
5Click Spawn R6 or Spawn R15. R6 is the older Roblox model version, with fewer attachment nodes. R15 is the newer version with more attachment nodes.[3]
- If you don't want to see the green "attachment nodes" (also called constraints), press Alt+D. You can also turn them off by going to the Model tab, then clicking the Constraint Details button in the "Constraints" section.
