Ed Erskine is an anime expert and podcaster based in London, UK. Ed has been watching anime for over 20 years and founded the Suuuper Anime Podcast in 2020. Favorite Piece of Advice

Anime teaches us a lot about how to overcome. Find your limitations and work on them; the response to failure or being humbled is potentially just misevaluation. Setbacks can teach us to reassess and grow.

What's your Guys fav MHA (my hero academia) character
My favorite character in My Hero Academia would have to be Stain, and that's going to be controversial because he started as a villain. But his whole philosophy was that some people just wanted to be heroes for the glory, and he actually reveres All Might because he isn’t doing it for the glory but to save people. His desire to target heroes stems from that philosophy, and whether his reasons for targeting heroes are right or wrong, I do like his philosophy and believe heroes should be doing it for the right reasons rather than clout chasing essentially.

Other characters that I like are Deku and Bakugo, because I like the tension and rivalry between them and how they push each other. I like Mineta, who brings great comedic timing to the show. Uraraka is great in terms of bringing some wisdom to the show, and Ingenium brings a bit of sensibility.
Recommendations for the best anime series or movies to watch next?
Anime is such a broad form of media that I like to break my recommendations into different types of anime.

For Shonen, I would definitely recommend watching Jujutsu Kaisen if you haven’t yet. I’d also recommend Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer, and My Hero Academia. If you’re a bit more old school, definitely watch Dragon Ball Z if you haven’t seen that as well.

For Isekai, I think Delicious in Dungeon is really cool. I’d also recommend season 1 of Sword Art Online.

For Romance, I would say Love is War. I also recently watched Horimiya, which was recommended to me, and really enjoyed it.

For Seinen, you’ve got to check out Psycho-Pass and Death Note. Those are two really good anime from Seinen, which tends to be a bit more adult with darker themes – more thriller or psychological. 91 Days is another good one.
I got Luffy! What did you get?
While the basic premise of One Piece sounds simple, a boy who learns about a treasure and goes to seek it out, the manga founder Oda has created such a complex world through over 1,000 episodes, which is an incredible showcase of storytelling and world-building.

Here are a few of the most well-known characters from the franchise:
Luffy - he’s the captain of the Straw Hats and ultimately is the one who pulled everyone together to form his crew.
Zoro - he’s the pirate hunter and the vice-captain. He is the brutish, silent type, but he’s very strong.
Chopper - he’s a reindeer and a doctor, but can also fight. I find him so cute and funny (he’s my personal favorite).
Nami - she’s the ship’s navigator who helps the crew travel to different islands.
Sanji - he’s the ship’s cook and aspires to be the greatest cook in the world.
Robin - she has a sad past but acts as the archaeologist on the crew, as she’s one of the few people in the world who can read the poneglyphs.
Jinbe - he is a fishman with some unique skills who has faced past discrimination but ended up joining the Straw Hats.
