What is a Chadlite?

Slang expert Tobi Nwodo says Chadlite is an attractiveness tier in looksmaxxing that refers to a guy who’s above average in physical attractiveness. On the PSL scale, he’s more attractive than a high-tier normie, but less attractive than a Chad. Chadlites are model-level attractive.

  1. According to Nwodo, Chadlite is a rating on the looksmaxxing hierarchy of attractiveness. The tiers on this scale (called the PSL scale) include normie, high-tier normie, Chadlite, and Chad. As Nwodo explains, “Chadlite refers to someone who's more physically attractive than the average person and higher-tier normies, but less attractive than the Chads (the most attractive people).”[1]
    • Chadlites are generally seen as guys who have model-level attractiveness (strong bone structure and high facial symmetry). Their looks are believed to give them an advantage in life and help them find romantic partners easily.
    • Chadlite examples: Cillian Murphy, Taylor Lautner, Chris Evans
    • The PSL scale is ranked from 1 to 8, with Chadlite having an average rating of 5 to 6.5.[2]

  1. According to influencer and content creator Gia Rutkowski, “‘Chad’ is the slang term referring to a very attractive, traditional man—think Henry Cavill.” For looksmaxxers, Chad is “perceived as a valid representation of desirable male traits.”[3] Chad is usually reserved for the highest level of attractiveness on the PSL scale.
    • On the PSL scale, Chad is typically given a score between 6.5 and 7.
    • Chads are exceptionally attractive, striking, and have near-perfect facial symmetry and bone structure.
  2. Rutkowski says looksmaxxers consider Giga Chad “to be the prime example of male desirability.”[4] These guys are the highest attainable tier on the PSL scale and extremely rare. They stand out for their barely perceivable flaws, exceptional facial symmetry, square jaws, and muscled bodies.
    • On the PSL scale, Giga Chad is usually given a score between 7 and 7.75.
  3. True Adam and Tera Chad are both terms that refer to guys who achieved attractiveness perfection. Since no human can actually be perfect, this score only applies to mythical and religious figures. For instance, Adonis, Apollo, and angels are considered True Adams or Tera Chads by looksmaxxers.
    • On the PSL scale, True Adams and Tera Chads get the highest score: 8.
  4. LTN, MTN, and HTN are all acronyms that refer to men of varying levels of average attractiveness on the PSL scale. LTN stands for low-tier normie, MTN stands for mid-tier normie, and HTN stands for high-tier normie.[5]
    • LTNs have a score between 1 and 3 on the PSL scale. They’re considered unattractive.
    • MTNs have a score between 3 and 4 on the PSL scale. They’re considered average, ordinary people.
    • HTNs have a score between 4 and 5 on the PSL scale. They’re considered good-looking.
  5. Stacy is the female version of Chad in the looksmaxxing community. Women who are Stacys are considered attractive, and come in the same attractiveness tiers as Chad on the PSL scale:
    • Stacylite: A woman of model-level attractiveness who finds it easy to get romantic partners. 5 to 6.5 on the PSL scale.
    • Stacy: A woman of peak attractiveness who stands out from the crowd. 6.5 to 7 on the PSL scale.
    • Giga Stacy: A woman of exceptional attractiveness. 7 to 7.5 on the PSL scale.
  6. Becky refers to a woman of average attractiveness. This rating comes in the same tiers as LTN, MTN, and HTN on the PSL scale, so there is a low-tier Becky (score of 1-3), mid-tier Becky (score of 3-4), and high-tier Becky (score of 4-5).
  7. Subhuman refers to someone with the lowest score on the PSL scale. According to looksmaxxers, these are people who are exceptionally and noticeably unattractive. In many cases, they have facial deformities.[6]
    • On the PSL scale, subhuman is typically given a score between 0 and 1.

What is looksmaxxing?

  1. According to aesthetics and looksmaxxing authority Austin Wayne, “the definition of looksmaxxing is just looking as attractive as possible because it will offer you more life opportunities.” In other words, it’s about “optimizing your looks so that you can optimize your life.”[7]
    • Rutkowski notes that the looksmaxxing community “has a strong overlap with red-pill, incel-adjacent subgroups.” She says, “Those who are part of ‘looksmaxxing’ communities believe in the superiority of appearance over all other traits, committing great amounts of time, money, and even practicing dangerous methods… to ‘beautify’ themselves.”[8]
    • “Over time,” Rutkowski continues, “looksmaxxing has diffused to the rest of youth internet culture, jokingly referenced or used casually as a method of self-improvement.” She says, “The majority of those who reference it or use slang that has roots in looksmaxxing…do not abide by the ideology it represents, and are often unaware of its origin.”[9]
