If you want to download and install a web browser extension in Microsoft Edge, it's easy–you'll just need to open the Edge Add-on store, find the extension you need, and click the Get button. If the extension you want isn't available from the Edge Add-on store, you can also download extensions from the Chrome Web Store. Read on to learn how!

Quick Steps

Click the puzzle piece on the Edge toolbar.
Click Get extensions for Microsoft Edge.
Browse or search for an extension.
Click the extension you want to install.
Click Get > Add extension.

You can browse the Discover page (the default view) to check out some suggested extensions, or click the Extensions tab at the top to browse by category. If you're looking for a specific extension, you can search for it using the search bar at the top of your browser.
This displays the extension's details page, which usually includes a description, screenshots, reviews, and ratings.
Edge will display the permissions required to use the extension. Review these permissions to make sure the extension is something you want to install.
This adds the extension to Microsoft Edge.
Click the puzzle piece icon at the top-right corner of Edge to display installed extensions and add-ons. If you'd like, you can click the pushpin icon next to an extension's name to add its icon to the toolbar.

You can browse the Chrome Web Store using the categories running along the left side of the page or use the "Search extensions and themes" bar at the top to search for something in particular.
The extension's page on the Chrome Web Store displays information about the extension, screenshots, reviews, and ratings.
You'll see it at the upper-right corner of the page.
This downloads the extension and adds it to Microsoft Edge.

Disable an extension. If you want to turn off an extension temporarily without uninstalling it:
- Click the puzzle piece icon at the top-right corner of Edge.
- Click Manage extensions.
- Toggle the switch next to the extension to the Off position.
- You can reenable the extension anytime by clicking the switch again.

Uninstall an extension. If you want to remove an extension from Edge completely:
- Click the puzzle piece icon at the top-right corner of Edge.
- Click Manage extensions.
- Click Remove.
- Click Remove again to confirm.
