Where did the ship come from?

Fans have shipped Dramione since the Harry Potter books were being released. The exact origins of the ship are unclear, as many fans claim to have written the first Dramione fanfic. However, the ship gained a lot of traction while fans waited for the later Harry Potter books to be released.
- JK Rowling supposedly once said that she considered a romance between Draco and Hermione, but this may only be a rumor, as there are no credible sources online confirming this.
- Emma Watson, who played Hermione in the Harry Potter films, also admitted to having a crush on Tom Felton, who played Draco. This could be another reason many people began shipping Draco and Hermione.

The Fallout follows the relationship between Hermione and Draco after Draco defects to the Order of the Phoenix during the Second Wizarding War. Hermione, isolated from her friends, is initially hostile towards Draco, but because they’re often in the same place at the same time, their relationship slowly develops into a romance.
Set after the war, Remain Nameless follows Draco Malfoy as he grapples with his mental health and healing journey. He begins meeting Hermione for coffee, and they form a tentative friendship that slowly blossoms into a romance.^{[9]

Alchemised by SenLinYu Alchemised is the published version of Manacled, with all references to Harry Potter removed. Hermione is now Helena, an alchemist taken prisoner after her Resistance friends have all been murdered in a war against the necromancers. When her enemies discover her memory loss and believe she is hiding vital information, she is sent to live with the High Reeve, Kaine Ferron (originally Draco).^{[10]

Fans from all over the world post their own Dramione stories, and there are currently over 36,000 fics tagged “Hermione Granger/Draco Malfoy.” Other popular fanfiction websites include Tumblr, Wattpad, and Fanfiction.net.
