Bermudez adds that it’s most commonly attributed to the Florida Everglades.[22] The skunk ape is tall and covered in thick hair, and it has a powerful, foul odor. There are a number of specific skunk ape legends, including the Boggy Creek Monster in Arkansas and Momo in Missouri. Bermudez adds that the Honey Island Swamp Monster in Louisiana is another similar creature.[23]
