If you have a Gmail (Google) account, your account is also tied to Google Calendar. Unlike Outlook and some other email apps, your Gmail calendar isn't built right into the Gmail application. This wikiHow guide will teach you how to find and view your Google Calendar from Gmail on any computer, phone, or tablet.

Where is my Google Calendar in Gmail?

Google Calendar and Gmail are separate apps. To access your Google Calendar on a phone or tablet, open the Google Calendar app. If you're using a computer, you can go to calendar.google.com in a web browser, or click the Apps icon at the upper-right corner of Gmail and select Calendar.

  1. Because Google's calendar isn't built into the Gmail app, you will need to download the Google Calendar app separately. Fortunately, it's super easy to do:
    • Open the App Store app.
    • Tap the search bar at the bottom and type google calendar.
    • Tap the blue magnifying glass to search.
    • Tap Google Calendar: Get Organized in the search results.
    • Tap GET or the cloud icon.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to install.
  2. Once Google Calendar is installed on your iPhone or iPad, tap the new Google Calendar icon in your app list, then follow the on-screen instructions to select or sign in to your Google account. Once you're signed in, you'll have access to your full Gmail calendar.
  3. Right now, your default calendar in the Gmail app is the calendar that comes with your iPhone or iPad. If you want to make sure Google Calendar seamlessly integrates into Gmail, you can change your settings in the Gmail app. Here's how:
    • Open the Gmail app.
    • Tap the menu at the top-left corner of your inbox.
    • Scroll down and tap Settings.
    • Tap Default Apps under "General."
    • Select Google Calendar under "Calendar."
      • If the toggle switch next to "Ask me which app to use every time" is enabled, tap the switch to turn off this feature.

  1. When you open Gmail on a computer, you may see several small icons running along the right side of your inbox. If you don't, click the small arrow < at the bottom-right corner–it'll say "Show Side Panel" when you mouse over it–to expand the sidebar now.
  2. This icon is at the top of the right panel. This opens your calendar in a small pane next to your inbox.
    • To open your calendar in its own browser tab, click the icon that looks like a square with a diagonal arrow across it at the top right side of the calendar pane.
    • To close the calendar pane, click the X at the top right corner.
  3. You can also open your calendar from Gmail and other Google apps (like Google Search) by clicking the App icon at the upper-right corner–it's an icon with 9 dots–and selecting Calendar.
