Plus, view and edit your custom friend lists

Want to see who is on your Facebook Friends list? When you're using a computer, you can find all of your friends on your Facebook profile—just click the Friends link at the top of the page. You can even search your Friends list for certain people, view friend requests, and create custom friends lists that keep your friends organized. This wikiHow article will show you where you can find a list of all of your Facebook friends when you're using a web browser.

Quick Steps to View Your FB Friends List

  1. Navigate to your profile on Facebook.
  2. Click Friends below your profile picture.
  3. View your full friends list, sort your friends by category (like “Current City” or “Recently Added”), or search for a friend by name.

  3. It’s in the row of buttons at the top of your profile, just below your profile picture. Your friend list will appear.
    • Alternatively, you can view your friends list by clicking Friends > All friends in the left-hand menu bar.
  4. Use the links at the top of the list to view friends that fall into different categories. Here are some examples:
    • Click Recently Added to view your newest Facebook friends.
    • Click Birthdays to see a list of friends whose birthdays are coming soon.
    • Click Current City to see friends who live in the same city as you.
    • You can also search for a specific friend using the search bar at the top of your friends list, or click Friend requests to see a list of people who have sent you friend requests that you haven’t yet responded to.

Viewing Custom Lists

  1. Go to www.facebook.com in a web browser. You can use any web browser, such as Chrome, Safari, or Firefox, to view and manage your Facebook friend lists.
    • Use this method to view Facebook’s "smart" friend lists (such as Close friends and Acquaintances) as well as any custom friend lists you’ve created.
    • If you’re not signed in, type your Facebook account information into the blanks at the top-right corner of the screen, then click Log In.
  2. It’s in the left menu pane, in the list of options under your profile thumbnail. If you don’t see Friends, click See More at the bottom of the section to view hidden options.
  3. It’s in the left menu bar.
  4. When you click a list, you’ll see recent Facebook posts made by people on that list. You’ll only see posts if you’ve added people to a custom list already.
    • By default, Facebook provides the lists “Close friends,” “Acquaintances,” and “Restricted.” These lists are empty until you add people to them.
    • To edit a list (or see who's on it), select a list, then click Add/Remove at the top-right corner of the screen.
    • To add a new list, click Create List in the left-hand menu.
