NANA is an anime about two girls named Nana who become roommates and navigate adulthood together. While it has recently surged in popularity, it’s still pretty hard to find. Luckily, we’ve got you covered. An anime & manga expert partnered with wikiHow to explain where you can watch NANA on streaming services, as well as other methods. We’ll also share where you can find the live-action NANA movies, why the series isn’t widely available, and more.

Where can I watch NANA?

Anime & manga expert Ryan Burns says that you can currently stream the NANA anime on Hulu. It’s also available on Disney+ or HIDIVE in the United States. Other options include using a VPN to access streaming services in other countries or purchasing the series on DVD or Blu-ray. NANA is not currently widely available.

Other Ways to Watch NANA

  1. A VPN (virtual private network) masks your IP address and allows you to access streaming platforms in other countries.[3] For example, while NANA is not available on Netflix in the United States, it may be available on the platform in another country. Using a VPN would allow you to watch it.
    • It may sound sketchy, but VPNs are totally legal in most countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
    • Using a VPN is a great way to watch your favorite shows without having to resort to using illegal sites.
  2. [4] Unfortunately, it’s also pretty hard to find physical copies of NANA. NANA DVDs and Blu-ray discs are available from many sellers online, but usually the prices are pretty steep. Still, you may get lucky and find one for a reasonable price. Then, you won’t have to worry about trying to find safe streaming sites!
  3. There may be other websites that allow you to watch NANA for free, but these are usually illegal at worst and sketchy at best. While we can’t recommend using these sites, if you really want to try your luck, check out Reddit forums like this one for recommendations. Anime fans may know which sites work better than others.
    • If you do decide to go this route, make sure you have ad-blockers to help protect your computer and your viewing experience.

Why isn’t NANA widely available?

PDF download Download Article
  1. NANA is hard to find because it’s an older anime that’s a little niche, according to Burns.[5] NANA isn’t as well-known as anime like My Hero Academia or Death Note. The manga series also went on hiatus indefinitely in 2009 due to the author’s health, leaving the story unfinished. Because of this, the anime is also incomplete, making it difficult for it to gain new fans.[6]

Where to Watch the Live-Action NANA Movies

  1. Two live-action adaptations of NANA were released in 2005 and 2006, respectively, but they did not receive theatrical releases outside of Japan. These films aren’t very popular, so they aren’t available for streaming. You may be able to buy them on DVD, though.
    • You may also be able to find the movies on random websites, but these are usually spammy and illegal, so use discretion if you decide to try one. Make sure you have an ad-blocker installed, too.

    • The manga consists of 21 volumes and ran from May 2000 to May 2009, when it went on indefinite hiatus.
    • The anime ran from April 2006 to March 2007 and consists of 47 episodes.
