   Try a VPN. A VPN (virtual private network) masks your IP address and allows you to access streaming platforms in other countries. For example, while NANA is not available on Netflix in the United States, it may be available on the platform in another country. Using a VPN would allow you to watch it.

   • It may sound sketchy, but VPNs are totally legal in most countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
   • Using a VPN is a great way to watch your favorite shows without having to resort to using illegal sites.

   Buy it on DVD. Unfortunately, it’s also pretty hard to find physical copies of NANA. NANA DVDs and Blu-ray discs are available from many sellers online, but usually the prices are pretty steep. Why isn’t NANA widely available?

   NANA is a relatively niche anime.NANA is hard to find because it’s an older anime that’s a little niche, according to Burns. NANA isn’t as well-known as anime like My Hero Academia or Death Note. The manga series also went on hiatus indefinitely in 2009 due to the author’s health, leaving the story unfinished. Because of this, the anime is also incomplete, making it difficult for it to gain new fans.

   • Burns points out that NANA has gotten a lot of attention lately thanks to its 25th anniversary and high-profile collaborations, including one with Vivian Westwood.

Where to Watch the Live-Action NANA Movies

   Unfortunately, the NANA movies are not widely available. Two live-action adaptations of NANA were released in 2005 and 2006, respectively, but they did not receive theatrical releases outside of Japan. These films aren’t very popular, so they aren’t available for streaming. You may be able to buy them on DVD, though.

   • You may also be able to find the movies on random websites, but these are usually spammy and illegal, so use discretion if you decide to try one. Make sure you have an ad-blocker installed, too.

   NANA follows two women named Nana who become roommates. The series follows Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu, two women who meet on a train when they move to Tokyo at age 20. Despite their opposite personalities, they become roommates and face challenges as they navigate love, friendship, personal struggles, and the harsh reality of adulthood.

   • The manga consists of 21 volumes and ran from May 2000 to May 2009, when it went on indefinite hiatus.
   • The anime ran from April 2006 to March 2007 and consists of 47 episodes.
