In perhaps his most impressive feat during the final battle against Ryomen Sukuna, Yuji—Jujutsu Kaisen’s noble protagonist—finally unleashed his domain expansion. Fittingly, it’s very unique: the domain expansion creates an environment that is a perfect mimicry of Yuji’s hometown, including significant landmarks, buildings, and even animals.

- The Dismantle attack itself is powerful, too. Many attacks are only skin-deep, designed to hurt a person physically—but Dismantle goes even further. It inflicts extreme levels of pain and damage to a person’s soul, which is much harder to heal.
- Combined with the fact that Yuji’s Dismantle attacks are guaranteed to hit inside his domain, getting to attack from a distance is a significant advantage.

Yuji’s domain also reflects his deep love for his hometown. Other jujutsu sorcerers have domain expansions, but theirs don’t look like their hometowns. Yuji’s is unique, and yet another reminder of why he’s come so far and what he’s been fighting for. Jizo Bosatsu-In (or Kshitigarbha) isn’t a creation of JJK—he is a Buddhist deity known for being the guardian of all children and a savior of the oppressed and the dying. In JJK, Yuji uses a hand gesture associated with Jizo Bosatsu-In. To make this gesture, the hands are held close together, fingers interlocking and curled into each other, with both index fingers kept straight and parallel to one another.

There are three types of domain expansion in JJK. Those three types are: lethal domains, non-lethal domains, and incomplete domains. Lethal domains are more difficult to construct; thus, the number of jujutsu sorcerers capable of using domain expansions has decreased over time. - Lethal domains - These domains are manifested with the intention for them to be lethal (deadly) to enemies. That’s why the cursed technique attacks made inside them can’t miss, and the user’s cursed technique is embedded into the barrier around the domain.
- Non-lethal domains - These domains are manifested without the intention of being deadly to enemies; their function is to force the people inside to follow the rules of the specific cursed technique embedded into the barrier.
- Incomplete domains - These domains are manifested with cursed energy, but don’t have a technique embedded into them (and may or may not have a barrier). Casters get enhanced cursed techniques without the added benefit of attacks that can’t miss.

Domain Expansions are highly powerful, but risky to use. As impressive as they are, a jujutsu sorcerer must consider the risks and rewards of using a domain expansion—because manifesting one costs a huge amount of cursed energy. Users are typically exhausted after using a domain expansion just once in a day, and attempting to use a cursed technique inside a domain that’s unstable will actually burn it out!

- Kinji Hakari (Idle Death Gamble) - This domain is pachinko-themed. Everyone inside is thrust into a gambling game—and Hakari gets a significant boost of unlimited cursed energy if he wins the game.
- Time Cell Moon Palace (Naoya Zenin) - In this domain, targets get hit with animation frames—and are forced to follow the 24 FPS (frames per second) rule. If they don’t, the cells in their bodies get frozen, heavily damaging them.
- Womb Profusion (Kenjaku) - This domain manifests as a pillar of cursed spirits lethal enough to destroy targets with its guaranteed-hit effect.
- Threefold Affliction (Yorozu) - This domain consists of an empty space with strange, mushroom-like objects floating through the air. All of Yorozu’s constructed attacks will hit in the domain.
