Grab the balls of mud that are surrounding you once the battle starts and throw them at Heatran. Once the battle starts, Heatran should put up a barrier of fire, and you'll need to remove this barrier in order to catch it. Throw the balls of mud at Heatran to attempt to remove this barrier, in a similar manner to how you threw the balms at the frenzied Noble Pokémon.^{[9]
