Have you accidentally inverted the colors on your iPhone, and you're not sure how to fix it? While this is an annoying thing to experience (and potentially straining on your eyes!), it's easy to resolve. In this article, we'll go over two ways you can switch off inverted colors on an iPhone, and we'll answer a few frequently asked questions, as well.
Quick Steps
- Open your Settings app.
- Tap on Accessibility.
- Tap Display & Text Size.
- Toggle off Classic Invert and Smart Invert.
- Return to the Accessibility menu and tap Zoom.
- Tap Zoom Filter.
- Tap None.
Steps
Turning Off in Display & Text Size Settings]
-
Open your iPhone's Settings. Look for the gray cog icon on one of your home screens. It may be in the Utilities folder.
-
Scroll down and tap Accessibility. It has a blue icon with a person on it, and the person has a circle around them.Advertisement
-
Tap Display & Text Size. It's in the "Vision" section at the top of the page.
-
Tap the switch next to "Classic Invert" to disable inverted colors. This switch is about halfway down the page. The screen will immediately return to the original color settings (darker text on a light background).[1]
- If the "Smart Invert" switch is set to the on/green position, you can also tap that switch to disable the feature.
Turning Off in Zoom Settings
-
Open your iPhone's Settings. Look for the gray cog icon on one of your home screens. It may be in the Utilities folder.
-
Scroll down and tap Accessibility. It has a blue icon with a person on it, and the person has a circle around them.
-
Tap Zoom. It's in the "Vision" section at the top of the page.
-
Tap Zoom Filter. It's near the bottom of the menu, but the menu is short, so you likely won't have to scroll far to find it.
-
Tap None. If your Zoom Filter is set to "inverted," switching it to "none" will fix your phone having inverted colors.[2]
