Reddit recently rolled out a controversial feature called “Community Themes,” which lets community moderators apply a colour theme that appears for visitors. Themes show up on the feed, post detail pages, and other UI elements. Users were angry because it is enabled by default in the settings. However, Reddit allows you to disable it with a few clicks.     Open the Reddit app on your Android device. Log in to your account if you haven’t already. Also, make sure your app is updated. You can check for updates in the Google Play Store.

    Tap the  three line (hamburger) menu. A menu panel will appear.

    Tap Settings. This is the first option in the menu panel.

    Find the “Use community themes” option. Under the “View Options” section, you will see it below “Blur mature images and media.

    Disable “Community Themes”. Tap the blue switch next to the “Use community themes” option to turn it off. This will stop custom themes in subreddits (communities). That’s it

    Log in to your Reddit account. Open www.reddit.com in your web browser and log in with your credentials if you haven’t already.

    Click on your profile picture. It is located at the top right corner of the screen, and a drop down menu will appear.

    Click the Settings option. This is the last option in the drop-down list. Alternatively, open www.reddit.com/settings to access the settings page directly.

    Click the Preferences tab. You will find it next to the “Privacy” tab. You can also open www.reddit.com/settings/preferences.

    Find the “Use community themes” option. It is located under the “Experience” section, next to “Display Mode.

    Disable Use community themes. Click the toggle next to “Use community themes” to turn it off. Once disabled, the toggle will appear greyed out. That’s it!
