Big lips are a fascinating character design choice in cartoons because they can be used to signal so many different things. Sometimes it means the character is a sex symbol (Jessica Rabbit, Mr. Nimbus), or that the character is so old and uncool that they’re not even remotely thought of as romantic figures (Roz in Monster’s Inc., Nigel Thornberry). There are so many different character designs that incorporate lips that it can be hard to identify any recurring themes. However, there are a few fun categories we found:
