Are you trying to find matches on Bumble in a new place? Like most dating apps, you can only match with other people on Bumble in your area. Bumble updates your location automatically using GPS data from your phone, but you can also temporarily change your location using the Travel Mode feature if you’re a subscriber. Using Travel Mode

  1. The simplest way to change your location is to set yourself to 'Travel Mode'.
    By activating Travel Mode, you can select a city to appear in for seven days. Your profile will appear at the center of your chosen city and will display a 'traveling' icon so that other users know you are traveling. This feature is only available if you have a Bumble Premium or Premium+ subscription.[1]
    • Open the Bumble app and log in.
    • Tap on Settings in the upper left-hand corner of the app. You’ll need to be in the Profile tab.
    • Scroll down to the Location section and tap Travel.
    • Search for your desired city and select it.
    • A timer will appear under your location settings to let you know how much time you have left in your altered location.
    • If you liked someone who is not a Premium or Premium+ subscriber, they might not be able to see your profile anymore while you are in Travel Mode. Other subscribers will still be able to see you to like you back, however.

Changing Your Hometown

    Bumble automatically changes your real-time location based on data from your phone’s GPS. However, you can update your profile to show where you live and where you are originally from. Keep in mind that you’ll still only match with people in the area detected by your GPS. To update your location info:[2]
    • Open your profile on your phone or the Bumble website and select Edit Profile.
    • Scroll down to About you (in the app) or My basics (on the web).
    • Tap Location or Hometown (skip this if you’re on the website).
    • Add or update your current city and your hometown. If you’re on the website, you’ll find this under My places.

    This feature lets you continue to see and like people while keeping your location hidden. Just keep in mind that anyone you like will be able to see your location, and you’ll be completely hidden from anyone you don’t like. This feature is only available to Bumble Premium and Premium+ subscribers. Here’s how to enable it:[3]
    • Tap your profile icon in the Bumble app, then tap the Settings icon (it looks like a gear).
    • Toggle on “Incognito Mode.” Tap the same switch to toggle it off again.

    Snooze mode completely hides your profile from potential matches as long as you have it enabled, although you can continue to chat with people you’ve already matched with. You can turn it on for a set amount of time (like 72 hours) or choose to leave it on until you turn it off yourself. To enable Snooze Mode:[4]
    • Go to your profile and tap the Settings gear icon.
    • Tap Snooze and select how long you want the snooze period to last.
    • If you want, set an away message to let your current matches know why you’re not around.

    Bumble is usually pretty good at detecting where you are, but sometimes things can go wrong. If the app consistently fails to detect your location properly, you can try some quick troubleshooting steps to get it working. If that doesn’t work, Bumble customer support might be able to help.[5]
