What is the testosterone finger theory?

   It suggests that people with long ring and short index fingers have higher testosterone. Several scientific studies suggest there's a relationship between the length of your ring and index fingers and the amount of testosterone you were exposed to in your mother's womb. Researchers have determined that the lower the ratio between your index and ring fingers—AKA your 2D:4D ratio—the more testosterone you received in-utero, or before you were born. A low 2D:4D ratio means your ring finger is noticeably longer than your index finger.

   • Meaning: People with long ring fingers and short index fingers (i.e., a low 2D-4D ratio) tend to be more athletic and perform better in sports. Meanwhile, people with high 2D-4D ratios tend to be more skilled at visual memorization. These are just generalizations, though, and don't actually determine your physical or mental talents!
   • Note: Your finger length doesn't cause your high testosterone, but rather the other way around!
