Tanjiro is the main character of Demon Slayer. He is a kind, resilient, and caring figure who is often guided by his sense of justice and good. Tanjiro also has an incredible sense of smell. He started on his path of slaying demons after his family was murdered and his only remaining relative turned into a demon herself. Despite his tragic past, he resolves to use his skills for good and to make the world better for other people.
Nezuko Kamado
Nezuko is Tanjiro’s younger sister, who was turned into a demon after the incident that killed her family. However, she is not like other demons in that she doesn’t feast on human flesh for her powers. Sweet but still powerful, Nezuko fights alongside her older brother to protect those she cares about as Tanjiro works to find a cure to turn her back into a human.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu is one of Tanjiro’s companions on the treacherous path of demon slaying. Zenitsu is cowardly and motivated mostly by fear, and occasionally by the desire to find a wife. Though his anxiety means he can sometimes be a burden to his teammates, he has a strong sense of hearing and possesses incredible combat skills that only rise to the surface under specific circumstances.
Inosuke Hashibira
Inosuke is another of Tanjiro’s demon-slaying companions. He is brash and bloodthirsty, relishing a good fight over anything else. Raised by animals, he believes that combat and power are the only things that really matter in life. Often wearing a boar’s head and wielding double swords, Inosuke is a fearsome opponent to meet in a fight.
