Toy collecting expert Eireann Kanzig says that Barbie has had several siblings throughout the years. Officially, she has 3 younger sisters: Skipper, Stacie, and Chelsea. Skipper is a teen who’s into technology, Stacie is an athletic pre-teen, and Chelsea is a clever, creative 7-year-old who likes solving mysteries.

   Skipper Skipper is Barbie’s younger teen sister who was the first character to be officially added to the Barbie family, confirms Barbie Doll Collector and Toy Photographer Jian Yang. Skipper was originally created in 1964 as an 8-year-old girl, but she was re-released in 2009 as a 14-year-old with brown hair and a purple (or blue) colored streak. In the Barbie universe, Skipper is interested in a multitude of hobbies, including technology, music, and gadgetry!

   Chelsea As a 7-year-old, Chelsea is the youngest sister in the Barbie family, confirms Yang. She was originally named Shelly and then Kelly, before being officially named Chelsea from 2011 to the present day. Just like Barbie, Chelsea has blonde hair, blue eyes, and she loves the color pink. She’s also very clever and intelligent and loves to solve mysteries, although she can be a bit arrogant about her sharp mind!

   Barbie has multiple “forgotten” siblings: Todd, Tutti, and Krissy. Todd and Tutti are twins who were introduced in 1966 as the younger siblings of Barbie and Skipper. However, Todd and Tutti had both completely disappeared from the Barbie universe after 2008. Similarly, Krissy (short for “Kristine”) was an infant sibling of Barbie who was introduced in 1998, but she’d largely disappeared by 2001. As of 2026, the only officially recognized siblings of Barbie are Skipper, Stacie, and Chelsea.
