TikTok is a popular video-sharing platform that allows you to create and upload short videos. To make an account, you can use a phone number, email address, or Facebook or Google login. You can also upgrade to a business account if needed. This wikiHow teaches you how to create a TikTok account on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone or tablet.

   Install TikTok on your Android, iPhone, or iPad. If you haven't already downloaded the TikTok app, it's easy! Head over to the Play Store (if you have an Android) or the App Store (iPhone or iPad), search for TikTok, and then tap GET or INSTALL.

   • You can easily create a TikTok account using a phone number, email address, or Facebook, Google, or Apple login.
   • To create a business account, follow these steps first to create a regular account. After it's created, you can upgrade to a business account.

   Open the TikTok app. Once you've installed TikTok, tap its music note icon to launch the app for the first time. If you're still in the Play Store or App Store, you can just tap OPEN.

   Tap Sign Up and select a sign-up option. If you don't mind creating a new password for TikTok, tap Use phone or email to create a login password now. Otherwise, you can create an account with Facebook, Google, or Apple, which gets rid of the need to create a whole new TikTok password.

   • Keep in mind that you can only create one account per sign-up method. If you want to create a second account, you'll need to use a different phone number, email address, or third-party login (Facebook, Google, Apple).

   Enter your birthday. Enter the year, month, and day of your birthday when prompted, and then tap Next to move forward. Nobody on TikTok will be able to see your age or birthday—this is just for account creation.

   Note: If you're under 13 years, ask a parent or a guardian to help you out. Let them know that you're downloading TikTok. You can also convince them if they are adamant.

   Enter your phone number, email address, or login details. If you're signing up with a phone number or email address, type in a phone number or email address you have access to, and then create a password that contains between 8 and 20 characters.

   • If you're signing up with Google, Apple, or Facebook, enter your login details for that site, and then follow the on-screen instructions to give TikTok permission to use your account. Don't worry, you can still create a unique username!

   Confirm your email address or phone number. If you signed up with a phone number or email address, verify the confirmation code. You may have to tap Send code first to receive the code. Once the code is confirmed, you're almost done!

   Create a TikTok username. This is the name people will see when they view your TikToks or see your comments. Be creative!

   • If you signed up with Google, Facebook, or Apple, a username will be created for you. You can change it, though! Just tap Profile, select Edit profile, tap Username, and then enter your new name. Don't forget to hit Save when you're done!

   Follow the on-screen instructions to get started. Depending on how you signed up, you'll have some different options. Have fun on TikTok!

   • After signing in, the app will ask you about your interests before feeding you videos on your For You page.
   • As you swipe through TikToks and like and interact with videos, the algorithm will learn more about you and show you more relevant videos.
   • If you want to "customize" your For You page with the help of the algorithm quickly, search for some of your interests and like lots of the videos you find.
   • You can also swap your regular TikTok account for a business account.
   • To recover your TikTok account when you have forgotten the password, go to the login screen. Select your login method, and then select Forgot password. Choose to reset with a phone number or email address. Verify using the 6-digit code to create a new password.

   Open the TikTok app and tap Profile. This is at the bottom-right corner of the app.

   • Once you've created a regular TikTok account, you can upgrade it to a business account.

   Tap Switch to Business Account. If you don't see this option, make sure your profile is set to "public". You can find this option underneath the Visibility header. Just tap Private account and make sure the toggle is off.
