In Minecraft, igloos are small structures found in snowy biomes. They can serve as great initial bases, as they have a bed, a furnace, and a crafting table. Some igloos have basements, which offer more space and more items. You can also find villagers and zombie villagers in these igloos, which makes them a great place to get the Zombie Doctor achievement. In this article, we'll go over 15 seeds with interesting igloos, plus we'll also teach you how to find more seeds using Chunkbase or Reddit. Keep reading to learn more.

    • Version: Bedrock

    • Version: Bedrock
    • Igloo coordinates: X = 88, Z = -264
  5. In this seed, you'll spawn right on a small island with tons of small biomes. This is a great exploration seed if you're trying to access as many biomes as you can as quickly as possible. There's an igloo without a basement, not too far away from spawn, if you want to use this as your first base.[5]
    • Seed: 2690220324264429200
    • Version: Bedrock
    • Igloo coordinates: X = 760, Z = 248
  6. In this seed, you'll find an igloo with a basement near spawn, which is also near a ravine. There's also a nearby zombie dungeon for collecting rotten flesh to sell for emeralds.[6]
    • Seed: -3771743828275271807

    • Seed: 33707287
    • Version: Java
  8. In this seed, you'll spawn next to a handful of igloos—but that's not what makes this seed interesting. If you travel a bit to the west, you'll come across an igloo with a basement, but instead of a basement, it's got a dungeon underneath it. This is a great option if you're looking for an adventurous seed to play in![8]
    • Seed: 2324965486843798979
    • Version: Java
    • Igloo coordinates: X = -1832, Z = 360

  10. In this seed, less than 1,000 blocks away from spawn, you'll find an igloo that has been generated inside a taiga village. While this igloo sadly has no basement, it makes for an interesting base if you're looking to take over a taiga village.[10]

    • Version: Java
    • Igloo coordinates: X = -360, Z = -840

    • Version: text
    • Igloo coordinates: X = 280, Z = -472

    • Version: Bedrock
    • Igloo coordinates: text
  13. In this seed, you'll spawn relatively close to two igloos with basements. The first is just south of spawn, and the second is to the east—but the eastern igloo spawns in a Snowy Slope biome surrounded by a Cherry Groves biome, which is perfectly picturesque. What makes this seed even better is the fact that there's an ancient city less than 100 blocks away from spawn, as well.[13]

    • Version: Java

Using Chunkbase's Igloo Finder

PDF download Download Article
  1. If you don't want to use the seeds listed above, or if those seeds don't fit what you need in your Minecraft world, you can use Chunkbase's igloo finder to find a seed that works for you.
    • Go to Chunkbase's igloo finder.
    • Turn on gridlines by checking the "Grid Lines" box in the bottom-right corner (optional).
    • Choose your Minecraft version in the "Version" dropdown.
    • Click Random until you find a seed that you like.
      • The map will be grayed out to make igloos easier to see. Igloos are represented on the map with a snowball icon. If the igloo has a basement, there will be a ladder on the snowball icon. If you enabled gridlines, you can easily see if an igloo is near spawn.
      • Hovering over a spot in the map will show the coordinates and biome in the lower-left corner. If you want to see the biomes more easily, click the eyeball button (the one on the left) next to "Biomes."
    • Copy the seed in the "Seed" field. You can then use this seed to start a new Minecraft world.
