   Convert your full name to the associated Pythagorean numbers. Write out your full first, middle, and last name as they appear on your birth certificate. Then, write down the correct numbers associated with each letter. You’ll use different combinations of these numbers as you create your chart. Here are the letters affiliated with each number:

   • 3: C, L, U
   • 4: D, M, V
   • 5: E, N, W
   • 6: F, O, X
   • 7: G, P, Y

   • Note: Use your full legal birth name. Numerologist Kaitlyn Kaerhart says to use the name you were born with, rather than a married name.

   Write out the individual digits of your birthdate. In addition to your name, you’ll use your specific date of birth to find certain numbers in your numerology chart. Kaerhart says the numbers that make up your birthdate have unique energies. Break your birthdate into individual digits to refer to later.

   Life Path Number Kaerhart says your life path number tells you the path you’re walking based on your birthday. She adds that it’s one of the most significant numbers to assess compatibility with numerology. This number can indicate your life’s core purpose, your talents, and specific challenges you’ll overcome.

   • How to calculate it: Add the individual digits of your full birthdate. If it’s a double-digit answer, add the numbers (unless it’s a master number, 11, 22, or 33). For instance, for the birthdate October 3, 2013, you would add 4+3+2+1+3 to get 13, and your life path number would be 4 (1+3).

   Soul Urge Number Your soul urge number is also known as your heart’s desire number. “Your soul urge number represents your deepest desires and what you truly want in this life,” explains Kaerhart. “It may be something you don’t even realize you desire.”

   Life Destiny Number According to Kaerhart, “Your life destiny number is how your life path expresses itself—it’s how you’re going to achieve your life path.” This number is also referred to as your life expression number. It highlights your natural abilities that will help you achieve your overarching purpose.

   • How to calculate it: Add the digits associated with each letter of your full name as it appears on your birth certificate. Then, reduce them to a single digit (unless it’s a master number). For example, for the name Jane Grace Doe, you would add 1+1+5+5+7+9+1+3+5+4+6+5 to get 52, which you would combine to get 7 (5+2).

   Personality Number Rice says your personality number is an outward number, meaning it’s how you present yourself to others and interact with the world. This is the impression you make and is likely how people perceive you before they get to know you better. It’s essentially the rising sign of numerology.

   • How to calculate it: Add the digits associated with each of the consonants in your full name. Then, reduce them to a single digit (unless it’s a master number). To get the personality number for the name Jane Grace Doe, you would combine 1+5+7+9+3+4 to get 28, which would reduce to 1 (2+8=10 → 1+0=1).
