Base Form. The Obsessed base form spawns at random in the overworld of Minecraft. It appears as a tall black entity with glowing eyes and a glowing mouth. This is the form in which The Obsessed exhibits most of its behaviour.
- In its base form, The Obsessed has 500 health, has a follow range of 200 blocks, and deals 3 damage points.
- The Obsessed is immune to most types of environmental damage, including fall damage, fire, lightning, wither, magic, and potion effects. It also has knockback resistance.
- The Obsessed has different facial designs to indicate its mood.

Arachnoid Obsessor. In Arachnoid Obsessor form, the Obsessed appears as its usual self but with large spider legs extruding from its back. This form only appears at night. It is accompanied by the sound of a heartbeat and is immune to nearly all player damage.
- Arachnoid Obsessor has 1024 points of health and has an attack damage of 3. It is immune to all player attacks, arrows, and potions.
- The Arachnoid Obsessor form can be disabled in the mod’s configuration file.

Sleep Paralysis Demon. Sleep Paralysis Demon appears when you are sleeping and hovers over you. It travels by flying and is immune to all damage. It cannot be killed and it doesn’t attack. It just watches you and disappears.

The Obsessed has mood changes based on your interactions. The mood system ranges from 5 points (very happy) to -5 points (very unhappy). When it is happy, it acts like a passive mob and leaves you gifts. It may even protect you. When it is unhappy, it starts to act aggressively. The Obsessed Behaviour

When you first start the game, you may find The Obsessed hiding in trees and dark shadows. It will appear when you least expect.

Stalking. By default, The Obsessed will always be watching you from the shadows. If you try to approach within 30 blocks, it will flee. However, it will always keep watching you.

Mimicking. When you become a target of The Obsessed, it will sometimes repeat text messages you send in the chat.

Jealousy. The Obsessed will attack other animals near you. If you try to tame or feed other animals, it will attack them.

Gift giving. The obsessed will leave you all kinds of disgusting gifts. Picking up these gifts or consuming them increases The Obsessed’s mood by + 1. The following are some of the gifts it gives:
- Crushed Animal Remains: Restores 4 points of hunger with 0.4 saturation.
- Decaying Lump of Flesh: Restores 1 point of hunger with 0.1 saturation.
- Withered Mushroom: Restores 7 points of hunger with 0.3 saturation.
- Dusty Spider Egg: Improves The Obsessed’s mood by +1 when picked up and another +1 when it is placed in the world.
- Carapace Amulet: When in your inventory, has a 50% chance of granting brief regeneration when you are attacked by a spider, silverfish, or endermite.
- Non-consumable gifts: All non-consumable gifts improve The Obsessed’s mood by +1 when picked up. These include necrotic fangs, silk-wrapped insects, diseased balls of hair, ancient tattered robes, blackened sewer mush, decayed animal heart, and femur fragments.

Intruder. When The Obsessed is unhappy, it has the ability to break down doors, climb walls, and climb through tight spaces. It will invade your base. It replaces all the torches with redstone torches and plants with Wither Roses.

Abducter. When The Obsessed is really unhappy, it will try to abduct you. This doesn’t do any damage, but it will try to carry you to an unknown location.

Tamed Protector. If you can get The Obsessed’s mood level all the way up to 5, it will protect you instead of pursuing you. It will attack hostile mobs and deal 15 damage.

Keeping The Obsessed Happy

Pick up the gifts it gives you. Picking up the gifts it gives you will increase its mood by +1 by default. Eating consumable gifts increases its mood by +1.

Stay away from other animals. Feeding or trying to tame animals can cause The Obsessed to become jealous.

Beating the Obsession

A Supreme Repellant is an item of Epic rarity that is dropped by The Obsessed. If you have it in your inventory, it prevents The Obsessed from targeting you. If you have already been targeted by The Obsessed, consuming a Supreme Repellant removes the obsession completely.

Retreat from the Overworld. Another way to beat an obsession is to retreat to another realm besides the Overworld for 20 minutes. You can retreat to the Nether or The End and remain there for 20 minutes. This will clear The Obsessed’s obsession with you.
