Oregairu is about a cynical teen who’s forced to join a service club at school. The rom-com/slice of life anime follows Hachiman Hikigaya, an outcast and disillusioned high schooler, after his teacher makes him join the school’s service club that helps and advises other students. The only other member is Yukino Yukinoshita, who’s intelligent and beautiful, but cold; that soon changes when the sweet and sociable Yui Yuigahama joins the mix. Oregairu Season 1 introduces Hachiman, the service club, Yukino, and Yui. Throughout the season, the three help out their classmates at school, from baking cookies to reviewing novels. Hachiman and Yukino regularly clash over their differing viewpoints about society and communication, but by the end of the season they—and Yui—have formed a bond.

Oregairu Too! Season 2 is a direct sequel to Season 1 and continues to follow the service club as they help various students at school. This season sees more character growth among the main trio, but that causes their dynamics to shift and some rifts start to develop.
