How to Make and Play Custom Quiplash Prompts

Select “Make Your Own” from the Quiplash menu. Creating custom prompts is available for Quiplash 2 and 3. When you load up the game, navigate to the Make Your Own option on the menu. Enter the 4-character room code on your device to join the room.^{[1]

- You can have up to 8 people join the room and write prompts at the same time.

Create a new episode and enter its title. Once all the players join the room, click on Create in the middle of the screen. Make a title for your group of prompts that’s 20 characters or less, and click the submit button to move forward.^{[2]

- You can also load any previous episodes and prompts that you’ve started working on if you want to edit them.

Write up to 64 custom prompts. Write the prompts in the text box and click the submit button to add them to the episode. Each prompt can only be 120 characters long, but they can be about anything you want! Stick to a theme for all the prompts or choose a variety to make the game more exciting. Aim to have at least 16 prompts so you can have a full 8-player game without any repeats.^{[3]

- If you want to hide your prompts from other players so they’re a surprise during the game, tap on the TV or phone icon at the top of the screen to blur them.

Select Play to start the game. If you want to start your custom game right away, select Play from the next screen. You’ll immediately launch into a new game lobby using the custom prompts you just wrote. If your friends weren’t in the room before, they’ll be able to join and play with the prompts you created.^{[4]

- Playing your set immediately only saves it to your computer or console. The set will remain unpublished, but you’ll be able to edit and make changes if you want to.
- You can have up to 100 unpublished custom sets of prompts saved locally to your device.

Publish the episode to make it public and play anywhere. If you want to make your prompts available to the world, select the Publish option from the menu. You’ll be prompted to agree to the terms and services before a 7-character code becomes available.^{[5]

- When you start a game and are the VIP who joins the room first, select the Episodes List option at the bottom of the screen. Then, enter the 7-character code to add it to your custom list.
- Once you publish an episode of custom prompts, you can no longer edit them.
