How to Switch Between Instagram Accounts on a Computer

Do you have multiple Instagram accounts you want to use without repeatedly logging in and out? You can add up to 5 accounts to switch between. If Instagram won't let you switch, we'll show you how to troubleshoot it. Here's how to switch between Instagram accounts on a Windows or Mac computer.

Quick Steps

1. Log in to instagram.com.
2. Click ☰, and then Switch accounts.
3. Enter your second account's login information.
4. Check the box for Save login info.
5. Click Log in.
6. Click Switch to switch accounts.

Switching Accounts on Instagram

   Go to instagram.com in a web browser. You can use any browser to add account log-ins to your Instagram.

   • If you aren't already logged into an account, do so now. You'll need to be logged into one Instagram account before you can add another.

   Click ☰, and then Switch accounts. The More icon is in the bottom-left corner. You'll see the Switch accounts option in the resulting pop-up menu.

   • A new login screen will open.

   Enter your second account details. You'll need to provide the phone number, username, or email address, along with the password, to log in.

   Check the box for "Save login info". If you don't do this, you'll need to enter your login details every time, and you won't be able to switch easily.

   Click Log in. This is the blue button.

   • You'll be logged into your second account.

   Click Switch to switch accounts. This is in the top-right corner, next to your current profile picture.

   Switch accounts. When you have more than one account logged in and saved to your browser, you can easily switch between them.

   • Click Switch in the top-right corner, next to your profile picture.
   • Click the other account.

Troubleshooting

   Log out of both accounts and log in again. If you're having trouble staying logged into both accounts, try signing out of all accounts first.

   Clear your browser cache. You may have corrupted data, and clearing your cache can help. This can be done for all websites or just the Instagram website.

   Set a password for the second account. If you created a second account using the same login information, you must input a new password to switch. Do the following:

   • Click ☰ More.
   • Click Settings.
   • Click Accounts Center.
   • Select the second account.
   • Click Avatar to prompt the password change.
   • Click Forgot password.
   • Set a new password (or use the same as the first account).
   • Save your changes.
