Satoru Gojo is the quirky and confident sensei of Jujutsu Kaisen’s main characters, who also happens to be the most powerful sorcerer in the series. For that reason, he’s one of the most popular and beloved characters in anime, so it’s no surprise that you want to draw him! To help you out, we’ve put together easy step-by-step instructions for drawing Gojo’s face, including his iconic blindfolded look, his alternate look with glasses, and a cute and simple chibi-style Gojo.
How to Draw Gojo (Easy)
- Start with a circle for Gojo’s head.
- Add a rectangular shape in the middle of the circle for Gojo’s blindfold.
- Draw lines for Gojo’s nose and mouth at the bottom of the circle.
- Add lines below the circle for Gojo’s jaw, chin, and neck.
- Create an elliptical shape around Gojo’s chin and neck for his high-necked jacket.
- Create jagged, crescent-shaped lines over Gojo’s blindfold for his hair.
Steps
Drawing Gojo’s Face With His Blindfold
-
Draw a circle for Gojo’s head. Use a pencil to sketch a circle in the center of your page—this will serve as the top half of Gojo’s head that encompasses his blindfold mask and nose (we’ll add his mouth and jaw later!). Then, draw a vertical line and a horizontal line through the center of the circle to act as guidelines.[1]
-
Sketch in Gojo’s blindfold in the center of the circle. Starting at the center of the circle, draw a line that angles slightly up to the left edge of the circle. Then, do the same on the right side—this is the top of Gojo’s blindfold mask! Drop your pencil a bit below the right edge of the blindfold and draw a downward-angled line about halfway to the middle of the circle. Do the same on the left side. Then, connect the lines with an upside-down “V” shape.[2]Advertisement
-
Add in Gojo’s nose. Place your pencil at the bottom center of the circle—this is where Gojo’s nose will start. Simply draw 2 short upward-angled lines on either side of the vertical line for his nostrils. Then, add a slightly curved line coming out of the right side of the upside-down “V” of Gojo’s blindfold for the bridge of his nose.[3]
-
Sketch a smirking mouth beneath Gojo’s nose. Move your pencil a bit underneath Gojo’s nose. Then, draw a slightly downward-curving line that extends just past his nostrils. Then, add 2 upward-curving lines at either end for Gojo’s signature smirk. Sketch in his bottom lip by adding a short, straight line just below the downward-curving line.[4]
-
Draw Gojo’s jawline, chin, and neck below the circle. Starting at the left edge of the circle where the horizontal line crosses through, draw a line angling down to Gojo’s nose. Do the same on the right side. Then, draw a sharper downward-angling line from the first line on the left that stops below Gojo’s mouth, and do the same on the right side. Add his neck by drawing 2 vertical lines starting just below Gojo’s jawline.[5]
-
Draw Gojo’s high collar around his neck. Place your pencil about level to the left side of Gojo’s jaw and 1 inch (2.5 cm) from his face. Then, draw a curved line that crosses over the bottom of his chin and ends about 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the right side of his face. Add 2 upward curving lines that connect to Gojo’s jawline to create an elliptical shape, which finishes up his high-neck collar.[6]
-
Finish Gojo’s jacket below the high neck. Starting on the left side of Gojo’s collar, draw a short line that angles down toward his chest. Do the same on the right side. Then, connect the lines with a curved line that mirrors the top of the collar. Create Gojo’s shoulders by simply adding 2 downward angled lines from the bottom of the collar.[7]
-
Add Gojo’s ears and spiky hair above his blindfold. For Gojo’s ears, draw 2 half-circle shapes on either side of his head, starting where the horizontal line passes through the circle. For his spiky hair, draw crescent-like shapes coming out of the top of his blindfold. Continue drawing the jagged shapes upward over Gojo’s head to mimic the flame-like look of his hair.[8]
-
Outline your drawing and add optional details. Use a darker pencil, black pen, or black marker to trace over Gojo’s head, blindfold, nose, mouth, neck, jacket, ears, and hair. Then, erase any excess sketch lines. Either keep your drawing clean and simple like this, or add a bit of detail:[9]
- Draw short, soft lines throughout Gojo’s hair to give it more texture and a spiky look
- Draw lines through Gojo’s blindfold to show that it’s fabric
- Add lines to indicate the rim of Gojo’s ears
- Create folds along Gojo’s collar so it looks more like fabric
- Add 2 vertical lines down Gojo’s collar and jacket to show where it closes
-
Shade or color in your drawing, if you’d like. It’s perfectly fine to keep your drawing as simple line work, or add some extra dimension to make it pop! For instance, use a regular drawing pencil to shade in Gojo’s blindfold and jacket, and add shadows to his face. Or, use colored pencils, crayons, or markers to give Gojo some color.
- For instance, make Gojo’s jacket a navy blue/indigo color, his blindfold black, and his skin a light tan. Feel free to keep his hair completely white, or use a pale lavender/gray color to add dimension toward the top of his blindfold.
Drawing Gojo’s Face With Glasses
-
Start with a rounded V-shape for Gojo’s lower face. Use a pencil to create a downward-angled line. Then, create another line that connects to it and is angled down even further—this is the first side of Gojo’s lower head and jaw. Add a small, curved horizontal line for Gojo’s chin. Then, create matching angled lines on the other side of Gojo’s chin to create the other half of his lower face and jaw. Overall, his face should have a “V” like shape.[10]
-
Fill the top half of Gojo’s head with his hair. Starting at the open top of Gojo’s face, draw jagged, crescent-shaped lines that are angled downward—these are the pieces of his hair that fall over his forehead when he’s not wearing his blindfold mask. Extend his hair just past his face. Then, add 2 half-circle shapes on either side of his face and just underneath his fringe for his ears.[11] For the rest of Gojo’s hair, draw similar spiky shapes going upward over his face.[12]
- For extra detail, add a few jagged lines inside Gojo’s hair to create some movement, and draw a few pieces behind Gojo’s ears!
-
Add Gojo’s neck and high-collared jacket. Draw 2 vertical lines from where Gojo’s jawline begins to create his neck. Then, draw an upside-down “L” shape extending out from his neck to begin the collar of his jacket. Add a curved horizontal line just below Gojo’s chin to finish out the top of the collar, drawing a “V” shape in the center for the opening of his jacket. Then, create his shoulders by drawing downward sloping lines on either side of the bottom of the collar.[13]
-
Draw Gojo’s glasses in the middle of his face. Start with a short rectangle shape extending from the top of Gojo’s right ear. Then, connect it to a large circle that reaches to the middle of his face. Add a short, double curved line for the bridge of his glasses. Then, draw another large circle for the left side of his glasses. Finish with another short rectangle shape that connects to his left ear.[14]
-
Add in Gojo’s eyebrows, nose, and smile. Most of Gojo’s hair obscures his forehead, but in the spaces in between his fringe, add a curved line over his glasses for his eyebrows. To draw his nose, simply create 2 small, upward-angled lines below the bridge of his glasses. For Gojo’s mouth, create 2 upward curving lines that meet in the middle underneath his nose and extend to the middle of his glasses. Add a shorter curved line underneath for his bottom lip.[15]
-
Outline and shade or color in your drawing. Use a darker pencil, black pen, or black marker to trace over Gojo’s face, hair, glasses, ears, nose, smile, neck, and jacket. Then, erase any excess lines. Feel free to keep your drawing as is, or add some shading or color for dimension![16]
- To shade in your drawing, use a pencil to darken the lower half of Gojo’s glasses, color in his jacket, and add shadows to the lower portion of his hair, the fringe over his forehead, and his ears.
- To color in your drawing, use colored pencils, crayons, or markers to make Gojo’s glasses a dark blue/indigo, his jacket black, and his skin a light tan. To create dimension in his hair, use a pale lavender/gray color.
Drawing a Chibi Gojo
-
Start with a rectangular shape for Gojo’s blindfold mask. Draw a line that angles upward and then connect it to a line that angles slightly downward, so the 2 lines meet at a slight point. Then, draw 2 short vertical lines from either end of the line. Connect the vertical lines together with a slightly upward-curving horizontal line. Then, add an upside-down “V” shape in the center—that’s Gojo’s completed blindfold![17]
-
Add a smiling mouth, ear, and the edges of Gojo’s face. Just below the upside-down “V” of Gojo’s blindfold, draw an elongated sideways “D” shape for Gojo’s smiling mouth. Then, draw a half-circle shape underneath the left side of his blindfold for his ear. Connect a wide “U” shaped line from the bottom of Gojo’s ear to the right side of the blindfold to create his face.[18]
-
Sketch in Gojo’s jacket directly below his mouth. Draw a slightly downward-curving horizontal line that touches the bottom of Gojo’s mouth and extends to the bottom of his ear—this is the high-neck collar of his jacket. Add vertical lines on either side to finish the neck of the jacket. Then, add downward-sloping lines at either end for his shoulders.[19]
- For extra detail, add a vertical line through the center of Gojo’s jacket to show where it closes.
-
Draw Gojo’s spiky hair above his blindfold. Starting at the outer edge of the top of Gojo’s blindfold, draw simple jagged shapes extending up over his head. Simply connect the shapes to the other side of his blindfold. Then, add a few more jagged shapes inside to give his hair an even spikier look.[20]
-
Outline and shade or color in your drawing. Take a darker pencil, black pen, or black marker to go over Gojo’s blindfold, ear, mouth, jacket, and hair so it pops out even more. Keep the drawing simple by stopping here, or feel free to add shading or color. Use a regular pencil to color in Gojo’s blindfold and jacket, or use colored pencils, crayons, or markers to make his mask black, his jacket a dark blue/indigo, his open mouth pink, and his skin a light tannish color.
- To add dimension to Gojo’s hair, use a lavender/gray color along the top of his blindfold and along some of the spikes you drew.
- For an even cutesier look, add pink blush over Gojo’s cheeks and add doodles around his face, like stars or hearts!
