Jujutsu Shenanigans has completely taken over Roblox, and we can see why. But with so many different characters, which is the best one to use? We’re ranking all of the regular characters in JJS to help you figure out which ones are strongest. Plus, we’re going over the overpowered and developer-only characters that you probably won’t see in a public server.

Section 1 of 4:

Regular Characters in JJS, Ranked

  1. Mahito is a strong, balanced character who’s a lot of fun to play. He has four unblockable moves in his base kit, including one that can bypass ragdoll (meaning if your opponent gets knocked down, you can still hit them). Not to mention his two Awakenings and that broken Domain Expansion.[1]
    • Awakening: Essence of the Soul
    • Super Awakening: Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing
    • Domain Expansion: Embodiment of Self Perfection
    • Special: Self Transfiguration
    • HP: 100
  2. Gojo is an OG character. His combos are powerful but straightforward—he’s a solid option for beginners, but there’s not much room to improve as you gain experience. But he’s really powerful in Ultimate Mode, and he can one-shot opponents in his Domain Expansion, so he’s still a solid choice regardless.[2]
    • Awakening: Six Eyes
    • Domain Expansion: Infinite Void
    • Special: Limitless
    • HP: 100

  3. Megumi is a strong character, but it takes a lot of skill to really make the most of him. His combos can be a little tricky to land, but the real secret is learning to use his shikigami—the rabbits, bird, toad, and dog that assist you in base mode. And when he transforms into Mahoraga after awakening, you can do crazy damage.[3]
    • Awakening: Insanity
    • Domain Expansion: Chimera Shadow Garden
    • Special: Lurking Shadow
    • HP: 85
  4. Playing as both Yuta and Rika can be fun but challenging—each has their own moveset, and you have to switch back and forth between them throughout the fight. It’s extremely difficult, but once you get the hang of it, you’re pretty hard to stop. Especially when Rika throws Yuta on top of the opponent.[4]
    • Awakening: True Love
    • Domain Expansion: Authentic Mutual Love
    • Special: Rika
    • HP: 100
  5. Locust Guy is a base-only character, which means he doesn’t have a Domain Expansion or Awakening Mode. The lack of an ultimate might be why you rarely see players using him, but his combos do a lot of damage, and he can even combo in the air. Most of all, he’s a lot of fun to play, even for players who are new to the game.[5]
    • Awakening: Directed Poison
    • Domain Expansion: N/A
    • Special: Fluttering Pounce
    • HP: 90
  6. Yuki is another base-only character, but she requires a lot of skill to play. Her combos and techs are complex, but they’re seriously broken when you get the hang of them. She can easily break blocks and it’s hard to dodge her attacks. Even though she doesn’t have an ultimate, her Awakening creates a black hole that pulls in anyone around, giving you a strategic edge (or a funny way to troll someone).[6]
    • Awakening: Unrestricted Density
    • Domain Expansion: N/A
    • Special: Mass Buildup
    • HP: 100
  7. Mechamaru is pretty balanced, with a good mixture of close and ranged attacks. He does pretty good damage and is fun to play, but he only has one attack that can break a block, and his attacks and combos require precise timing.[7]
    • Awakening: Absolute
    • Domain Expansion: N/A
    • Special: Offload
    • HP: 85, increases to 117 during Awakening
  8. Higuruma is balanced and beginner-friendly, but we put him in the middle of the pack because he’s not really the strongest or the weakest. His combos are pretty easy to land, and some of his moves are unblockable. But his guard breaks don’t always work, the guessing game in his Domain Expansion is unpredictable, and he’s vulnerable to ranged opponents.[8]
    • Awakening: Deadly Sentencing
    • Domain Expansion: Deadly Sentencing
    • Specials: No Escape, Domain Amplification
    • HP: 100
  9. Naoya is pretty popular in JJS. His attacks don’t ragdoll opponents, meaning they stand up after you hit them, so you can chain more hits together in a combo. But the combos stay green, which means opponents can sometimes dodge or block their way out of an attack.[9]
    • Awakening: Vengeance
    • Domain Expansion: Time Cell Moon Palace
    • Specials: Projection Sorcery, Acceleration
    • HP: 90, 70 in Awakening
  10. Choso is considered one of the hardest characters to play in JJS. His combos are really complicated, so they take a lot of practice to master, but he’s a solid, balanced player when you get the hang of him. His attacks don’t do a ton of damage and his ultimate isn’t the strongest, but he’s still a great choice if you’re looking for a challenge and a character who stands out from the crowd.[10]
    • Awakening: Duty as a Brother
    • Domain Expansion: N/A (has a Blood Rain that drains Awakening)[11]
    • Special: Convergence
    • HP: 100
  11. Yuji is a fun character, but he’s a little controversial. He started out extremely powerful, but he’s been nerfed several times in updates. He’s still strong, but it still takes some skill to fully unlock his potential—not many players can consistently land 4 Black Flashes in a row. On top of that, relying on Black Flash can make players a little predictable.[12]
    • Awakening: King of Curses
    • Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine
    • Specials: Combat Instincts, Cleave
    • HP: 85
  12. Nanami is a relatively new character in JJS, so players are still figuring out how to make the most of him. It takes a little practice to nail down the timing of his attacks and combos, and he’s reliant on his special move to make his attacks unblockable. But in Awakening Mode he does a lot of damage, so it might be worth the practice.[13]
    • Awakening: Overtime
    • Domain Expansion: N/A
    • Special: Ratio Point
    • HP: 100
  13. Hakari is an excellent option for beginners because his combos are easy and his combo extenders let you do a lot of damage. He does solid damage, his luck-based Domain Expansion is fun, and he becomes temporarily invincible when he’s in Awakened Mode—but overall, he’s just not quite as strong as some of the characters that landed higher on the list.[14]
    • Awakening: Idle Death Gamble
    • Domain Expansion: Idle Death Gamble
    • Specials: Door Guard/Rhythm
    • HP: 100
  14. Charles Bernard is a base-only character. His special move slings other players around the map, which can give you an edge in battle, but his combos and counters aren’t very strong. He’s a good character if you’re just starting out, but most experienced players don’t stick with him for long.[15]
    • Awakening: Foresight
    • Domain Expansion: N/A
    • Special: Clairvoyance
    • HP: 85
  15. Todo is a tanky character in JJS, and there’s a lot of variety in his base moveset. He’s a little slow, which can make him clunky and an easy target. His moveset is pretty basic, so he’s good for beginners, but mastering his combos takes a little skill. His ability to swap places with another player can be really fun, too.[16]
    • Awakening: False Memories
    • Domain Expansion: N/A
    • Special: Boogie Woogie
    • HP: 100
  16. Haruta is the newest character in JJS, but unless he’s buffed in a later update, he’s not likely to take over. He only has 70 HP—the lowest of any character in the game—and he can’t do any attacks if he doesn’t have his sword. But his Awakening does give him an 8 second window to attack where the opponent can’t do anything at all, so he might still be fun to try out.[17]
    • Awakening: Jawbreaker
    • Domain Expansion: N/A
    • Special: Helping Hand
    • HP: 70

What characters are in early access in JJS?

  1. When the developers are working on a new character, they’ll sometimes release it early to players who have purchased the game’s Early Access pass. Currently, all characters that were in Early Access have been completed and are now available to the public.[18]
    • If you’ve bought an Early Access pass, it’s permanent, so you’ll get access to any new characters when they’re introduced.

Hunter Rising
There are 18 playable characters in Jujutsu Shenanigans as of March 2026, and each of them has their own special attacks and powers. While it’s up for debate which ones are the best, these are some of the strongest characters to try out the next time you play!
  • Honored One (Gojo): Honored One has an easy moveset that anyone can learn and master quickly, and his 0.2 Domain and Infinite Void Awakenings freeze your opponents so you can land deadly combos.
  • Ten Shadows (Megumi): Activating Ten Shadows’ Awakening lets you freely switch between your abilities so you can do 8 different attacks, and his moves let you make powerful offensive plays from a long distance.
  • Blood Manipulator (Choso): Blood Manipulator’s base attacks all deal a high amount of damage, and he can summon powerful orbs during his ultimate that take down your opponents even faster.
  • Switcher (Todo): Switcher’s Awakening brings in their idol to fight alongside them, which can catch your opponents off guard and make landing combos a lot easier.
  • Vessel (Yuji): Vessel has simple combos that are easy for a beginner to learn, and his quick attacks are great for block-breaking.
  • Restless Gambler (Hakari): Restless Gambler’s special Awakening allows him to have infinite cursed energy, which allows him to regenerate health, speed up cooldowns, and deliver powerful attacks.

Tips

  • Roblox streamer D'Andre Bridges says Cosmic Garou is one of the most recent characters in JJS. “People have been waiting for him for a long time,” he explains, making him a fan favorite.[20] That said, Cosmic is not an official, playable character in the base game. Creators usually build custom movesets using the Skill Builder or private server modding tools.
