Chimera Shadow Garden lets Megumi move through and manipulate shadows. One of the most useful abilities of Chimera Shadow Garden is the shadows it grants Megumi. Not only is he able to freely move between these shadows, but he’s also able to keep weapons within them and trap enemies in them. When enemies are trapped inside of his shadows, they have no oxygen, buoyancy, or resistance, so they fall forever.
- This ability can be used against him, though, as seen when Reggie Star turned their battle into a contest of weight by dropping cars inside of the shadows.
- Since Megumi must bear the weight of whatever is in his shadows, he was forced to bear the weight of the cars Reggie dropped inside his domain.
- To counteract the sinking effect of Megumi’s domain, an opponent must fortify their footing with cursed energy.
Chimera Shadow Garden greatly extends Megumi’s technique, allowing him to summon multiple shikigami to overwhelm his opponent. For example, during his fight against a Finger Bearer in season 1 of the show, Megumi was able to summon multiple versions of Nue to electrify the Finger Bearer after attacking it with hundreds of toads.^{[3]

Since Chimera Shadow Garden expands Megumi’s technique, it also gives him the ability to summon clones of himself made out of shadows. These clones can significantly shift the direction of a battle, as seen when Megumi used them to combat Reggie Star and overwhelm him with constant attacks in the Culling Game.^{[4]

Chimera Shadow Garden also fortifies Megumi’s technique and strength. While he suffers physical drawbacks when he tries to open the domain without enough cursed energy, Chimera Shadow Garden still fortifies Megumi’s strength and pushes his technique to 120% of its maximum potential. With the enhanced technique, Megumi is able to overwhelm his opponents with a combination of clones and shikigami attacking one after another.
- Megumi is able to leverage this maximum potential when he expands his domain to create a hole in Dagon’s barrier during their fight in Shibuya.

Megumi’s domain is incomplete because he struggles creating independent barriers. As a young sorcerer, Megumi is especially talented, but he has trouble creating independent barriers from scratch. Since barriers are essential for domains, this means he’s unable to open his domain without an enclosed space to act as a barrier for him.^{[6]
