Mob Psycho 100 features a diverse cast of espers (psychics), ordinary middle school students and adults, and villains who want to take over the world. Here are some of the main players in the series:

Shigeo Kageyama Shigeo, better known as Mob, is the protagonist of Mob Psycho 100. He appears as a reserved and passive middle school student, but that’s just because he’s an extremely powerful esper (aka psychic). If he loses 100% control of his emotions, he releases devastating psychic energy. Mob’s truly a compassionate guy, which is probably how he ends up working as an exorcist for the notorious con man, Reigen.^{[1]

Arataka Reigen Reigen is the deuteragonist of Mob Psycho 100. While the orange-haired man touts himself as the “Greatest psychic of the 21st century” and runs a spiritual consultation business, he lacks any supernatural abilities. Instead, his strengths are his incredible manipulation and people skills. When Mob comes to him for help, Reigen realizes he’s the real deal and gets him to work for him. Though he’s slimy, Reigen has a clear moral code and does care for Mob.^{[2]

Dimple Dimple may have a cute name, but he’s actually an evil spirit (...though we’ll admit his red cheeks are adorable). He’s initially an antagonist who leads the LOL cult, which forces people to laugh. When the playful spirit runs into the emotionless Mob, the two battle and Mob easily defeats him. However, Dimple sticks around on the pretense that he wants to use Mob’s powers to become a god (but it’s clear he really cares for the boy).^{[3]

Ritsu Kageyama Ritsu is Mob’s younger brother who also attends Salt Middle School. He’s kind, polite, good-looking, intelligent, and a member of the student council. While he seems like he has everything Mob doesn't, Ritsu is jealous of his brother’s abilities and feels like he can never measure up to him. That said, Ritsu does love and admire Mob (and their relationship grows stronger when Ritsu does develop powers of his own).

Teruki Hanazawa Teru is a powerful esper and student at Black Vinegar Private Middle School. He’s an egotistical and arrogant boy who looks down on non-espers and uses his psychic powers to rule the school and become popular. When he meets Mob and realizes he’s not the best psychic ever, he’s extremely humbled and turns over a new leaf. The two even eventually become friends (though Teru claims Mob is actually his rival).^{[4]

Sho Suzuki Sho is another middle schooler and powerful esper. He’s the son of Toichiro, the leader of the villainous Claw organization. However, Sho is against his father’s plans and starts a resistance movement of his own, which is how he meets Mob, Ritsu, and Teru. While serious about his goals, Sho is mostly lighthearted, optimistic, and enthusiastic.

Tome Kurata Tome is the leader of the Telepathy Club at Salt Middle School. Despite having no powers of her own, she wants to use telepathy to communicate with aliens. When she tries to recruit Mob to her club, she learns that he’s a real psychic and befriends him. Tome is quirky, loud, and very lazy, so she definitely fits in with the rest of the eccentric cast!^{[5]

Keiji Mogami Keiji is a famous former psychic and assassin, who died and became an evil spirit after his mother blamed his negativity for her death. While originally a kind and generous man, he becomes bitter and disturbed by human selfishness, eventually using his psychic and spiritual powers to destroy people he views as corrupt. Keiji ends up attacking Mob because, in his own twisted way, he wants to protect Mob from following his path.^{[6]

Katsuya Serizawa Katsuya is one of the Ultimate 5, an elite group of Claw members who serve directly under Toichiro. While he’s a powerful esper, he’s fearful of his own abilities and always anxious about losing control. Nozomu Hatori Hatori is also a member of Claw’s elite Ultimate 5. He’s another smug and arrogant character who believes he’s better than others and is proud of his authority. While he’s a strong esper, his abilities don’t help much in physical battles.

Ishiguro Ishiguro is part of Claw’s second-highest branch, Scar, and the leader of the 7th Division in Japan. The old man has a heavily scarred face, which he usually hides under a creepy gas mask. He’s another strong esper who believes his powers make him better than others, and has a terrifying violent and sadistic streak.^{[10]

Yusuke Sakurai Yusuke is a scarred member of Scar and the most powerful esper in the 7th Division. He was led to Claw after being abandoned by his family and bullied at the orphanage he grew up in. He’s a serious and strict guy, though he’s not totally unreasonable like his other Claw members.

Tenga Onigawara Tenga is the leader of the delinquents at Salt Middle School. He’s hot-headed and loves to fight, and is proud of his threatening aura. However, he’s really a sensitive good guy who actually cares for school (as he has a perfect attendance record).^{[12]

Musashi Goda Musashi is the muscular president of the Body Improvement Club, a club devoted to getting fit and gaining muscle. Tsubomi Takane Tsubomi is the beautiful “idol” of Salt Middle School and, more importantly, Mob’s crush. The two were actually childhood friends, and while Mob always tried to impress her with his powers, she got bored with him and they lost touch. Tsubomi is kind and intelligent, though she deeply cares about her appearance and what people think of her. And unknowingly, she drives a lot of Mob’s decisions in the series!^{[13]
