Is Roblox blocked on your school computer or network? The good news is that there are a few ways around the block. Even if you can’t download and install the launcher, you might still be able to play Roblox directly in your browser using a cloud gaming website. Since a lot of schools also block gaming sites, you might need to take some extra steps, like using a proxy website, installing a VPN, or hopping online with your phone’s mobile hotspot.

The Best Ways to Play Roblox on a School Computer

If you can't download the Roblox launcher on your school computer, your best bet is to play on a cloud gaming site like now.gg or easyfun.gg. If those sites are blocked, you might be able to get in using a proxy or a VPN browser add-on. If you have access to your phone, bypass your school network with a hotspot.

Playing on a Cloud Gaming Site

Find a cloud gaming site that supports Roblox. If you can’t play Roblox on your school computer because game downloads are blocked, you might be able to play a browser-based version on one of these websites. You won’t need to install anything to play through one of these sites. Here are a few sites that host Roblox online:
- now.gg: This is one of the most popular cloud gaming platforms for playing Roblox online. While you can play Roblox for free on now.gg, you’ll need to have ads enabled. This means that if your school computer has an ad blocker installed that you can’t turn off, you’ll need to subscribe to play.^{[1]

- www.easyfun.gg: This free website offers browser-based access to Roblox, but it also won’t run if you have an ad blocker installed.^{[2]

- web.cloudmoonapp.com: This site offers limited minutes of free gaming with ads, but you can pay for a subscription for unlimited minutes. It also requires you to log in with a Google account. You’ll need to turn off ad blockers to use this site.^{[3]

Turn off your ad blocker if possible. If your school’s IT administrator gives you permission to manage extensions on your computer, then you can turn off any ad blockers in your browser. You’ll likely need to do this to play Roblox on any cloud gaming service (although some will let you play with ad blockers on if you pay a small subscription fee). Search for roblox on the cloud gaming site and start playing. Searching for “Roblox” should take you to the Roblox launcher in your gaming site of choice. Click the option that says Play, Play Now, or something similar. Roblox will open in your browser so you can start playing.
- You might be prompted to sign in with your Roblox account or create a new account. While signing in with your regular account makes it easier to access your items, Robux, and more, it’s a little safer to create a secondary account for privacy reasons.
- If your school blocks any of these cloud gaming servers, you might be able to get around the block using one of the other methods below (e.g., with a proxy, a VPN, or your phone’s mobile hotspot).

Using a Proxy

Find a proxy website that’s not blocked by your school. Proxy sites route your web activity through an outside server, which allows you to get around blocks on your school’s network. If you find a proxy that works for you, you can use it to visit one of the cloud gaming sites in the previous section if those are blocked on your network.
- Some popular free options include www.proxysite.com and coproxy.io. However, if your school network blocks these sites, you might have to do a bit more digging to find one that will work.
- Websites like WolfUnblock maintain lists of proxies you can try for unblocking sites at school. Always use caution when trying proxies, since some are safer than others.

Plug the URL for your gaming site into the proxy search bar. Most proxy sites have a URL bar or search bar where you can enter the address for the website you want to access. Plug in the website address for one of the cloud gaming sites above and click the option that says Go, Search Now, or something similar.
- You might also be prompted to choose a server, if multiple proxy servers are available. It’s usually best to pick a server that’s close to you geographically. Otherwise, you might experience more lag and slow loading times.

Trying a VPN

See if you can install a browser-based VPN. Much like proxies, VPNs work by routing your web traffic through an outside server. Unfortunately, if your school computer prevents you from downloading and installing apps, you won’t be able to install a standalone VPN. However, some VPNs offer browser add-ons that you can use instead.
- If your school’s IT admin blocks you from installing or managing extensions in your browsers, you won’t be able to do this.
- ProtonVPN and Surfshark both offer browser extensions that have good reputations for speed and safety. ProtonVPN’s extension is free, but you need a subscription for the Surfshark extension. However, Surfshark does offer a free trial.

Try playing Roblox on a cloud gaming site with the VPN installed. If you are able to install a VPN, you might be able to access gaming sites that would otherwise be blocked. Visit one of the sites in the previous section and see if you can access Roblox.
- If you are able to download apps and installers on your school computer, but the Roblox website is blocked, you may be able to install a VPN, then go to the Roblox website and download the installer.

Using a Mobile Hotspot

Connect to your phone’s mobile hotspot on your school computer. Using a mobile hotspot will allow you to bypass your school’s network and get around blocks and firewalls. This method can help you access websites that would be blocked otherwise, but it won’t help you download apps or installer files if downloads are blocked on your computer.
- If you have an iPhone, make sure you have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled in your Control Center. Then, go to Settings > Personal Hotspot and toggle on Allow Others to Join. On your computer, open the Wi-Fi menu and select your phone’s hotspot from the list of networks. You may be asked to enter a Wi-Fi password, which you should see in your iPhone’s Personal Hotspot menu.
- If you have an Android, make sure you have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled on your phone. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Hotspot icon to turn on your hotspot. On your computer, open the Wi-Fi menu and select your phone’s hotspot from the list of networks. Enter the Wi-Fi password if prompted.

Open Roblox in a cloud gaming site. If you couldn’t access any of the cloud gaming options described above because they were blocked by your school network, you should be able to get into them now. Visit your favorite site and search for Roblox, then start playing!
- If your computer is set up to allow downloads and installations but the Roblox website was blocked, you can now go directly to the Roblox website and download the launcher.

Can I run Roblox from a USB drive?

While you can theoretically install the Roblox launcher on a flash drive, you probably won’t be able to play the game directly from the drive. Roblox relies heavily on constant access to online content in order to be able to run.
