This wikiHow shows how to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS/iPadOS 14. The process varies depending on the iOS version and device model. Jailbreaking your iOS/iPadOS device allows you to install tweaks as well as sideload apps downloaded outside the App Store. Back up your device before jailbreaking, as something can go wrong during jailbreaking.

  1. Taurine jailbreak is supported on devices running iOS/iPadOS 14.0 to 14.8.1.[1]
    • You can check the iOS/iPadOS version by going to Settings -> General -> About on your device.[2]
  2. Install TrollStore. The process of installing TrollStore varies depending on the device model, but for A12 or later devices (iPhone XR or later, iPhone SE 2nd generation, iPad 8th generation, iPad Air 3rd generation or later, iPad mini 5th generation, iPad Pro 11", or iPad Pro 12.9" 3rd generation or later), you need to perform the TrollHelperOTA method, whereas for A11 or earlier devices (iPhone X or earlier, iPhone SE 1st generation, iPad 7th generation or earlier, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad Pro 9.7", iPad Pro 10.5" or iPad Pro 12.9" 2nd generation or earlier), you need to perform the TrollInstallerX method.[1]

Install Taurine. Download the Taurine IPA on your device, and open the TrollStore app, tap the plus button at top-right, select the Taurine IPA file from files, then tap Install to install the Taurine app. It is recommended to reboot your device after installation.[1]
    • Download the unofficial version of Taurine only if you have a M1 iPad Pro with 1TB or 2TB of storage.
    • It is recommended to reboot your device after doing this step.
  4. 4
Run the Taurine jailbreak. Open the Taurine app on your device and tap Jailbreak. When prompted, reboot your device, then open the Taurine app again, and tap Jailbreak. After you perform this step, your device should have Sileo installed.[1]
    • If your device crashes unexpectedly and doesn’t have Sileo installed, rerun the jailbreak again and over until it succeeds.
    • If you encounter ERR_Jailbreak error, reboot your device, open Taurine again, enable Restore Rootfs, and rerun the jailbreak.[3]
    • If you encounter ERR_Already_Jailbroken or ERR_KernRW error, reboot your device, open Taurine again, and rerun the jailbreak.[3]
  5. Open the Sileo app, search for libiosexec1 tweak and tap Modify, Upgrade, Queued and Confirm to upgrade the tweak. Search for libhooker (common), PreferenceLoader and RocketBootstrap tweak and tap Install on all. Tap Queued and Confirm to install these tweaks. Once installed, tap Restart SpringBoard to restart SpringBoard.[1]

  1. unc0ver jailbreak is supported on devices running iOS/iPadOS 14.0-14.3, as well as iPhone XR, XS, 11 series, and SE (2nd generation) running iOS 14.6-14.8.[4]
    • You can check the iOS version by going to Settings -> General -> About on your device.[2]
    • Be aware that some features on iOS/iPadOS 14 jailbroken with unc0ver can be unstable, including being unable to make in-app purchases, make phone calls, or use cellular data. It is recommended to use Taurine instead, as it provides high stability.
    • Although this article shows iOS/iPadOS 14 jailbreaks, unc0ver also works for devices running iOS 11.0-12.5.5 and iOS/iPadOS 13.0-13.7.
    • unc0ver is not supported on iPhone 12 series or X or earlier, iPhone SE (1st generation), iPads or iPod touch running iOS/iPadOS 14.4 or later, or any device running iOS/iPadOS 14.4–14.5.1 or 14.8.1. Use Taurine jailbreak for these versions.
  3. 3
Install unc0ver. Download the version 6.1.1 of unc0ver IPA if using iOS/iPadOS 14.0 to 14.3, or both latest version of unc0ver IPA and u0Launcher IPA if using iOS 14.6 to 14.8 on your device, and open the TrollStore app, tap the plus button at top-right, select each IPA file from files, then tap Install to install the respective app. It is recommended to reboot your device after installation.[4]
  4. Open the unc0ver (or u0Launcher if running iOS 14.6–14.8) app on your device, disable the Disable Auto Updates toggle in the app settings menu, and after that, tap Jailbreak. When prompted, reboot your device, open that same app and tap Jailbreak again.[4]
    • If you get the "rootFS already mounted, delete the OTA update" error, delete the OTA update by going to Settings -> General -> iPhone/iPad/iPod Storage -> System Update and tap Delete, and run unc0ver jailbreak again.[3]
    • After you successfully jailbreak your device, Cydia should be installed on the home screen.
