This wikiHow shows how to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 8. The process varies depending on the iOS version and device model. Jailbreaking your iOS device allows you to install tweaks as well as sideload apps downloaded outside the App Store. Make sure to back up your device before jailbreaking, as something could go wrong during the process.

1Make sure you have a compatible device running the compatible iOS version. Carbon jailbreak is supported on iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, iPad 2, iPad 3rd and 4th generations, iPad mini 1st generation, and iPod touch 5th generation running iOS 8.0 to 8.4.1.[1]
- Although this article shows jailbreaks for iOS 8, it also works for iOS 9.x.
- Carbon is an untethered jailbreak.
- You can check the iOS version by going to Settings -> General -> About. [2]

3Go to the Carbon website. Enter http://carbon.sep.lol/ in the address bar on Safari, and tap Go.[1]
- You can add the website to home screen for easy access by tapping the share icon at the bottom and tapping Add to home screen.

4Run the Carbon jailbreak. On the Carbon website, tap Run button to run the exploit. Wait until the device reboots. After you perform this step, your device should have Cydia installed.[1]

4Install wtfis. Open Sideloadly on your computer, then drag and drop the wtfis IPA into the Sideloadly window, then enter your Apple Account details. This will install the wtfis IPA into your device. [3]

5Trust the developer. Go to Settings -> General -> Device Management -> [your Apple Account] on your device and tap Trust [your Apple Account] to trust the developer.[3]
