Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime with plenty of intense character relationships—but surprisingly little romance. That might be why fan-made ships (or imaginary relationships) between the characters are so popular. We’re breaking down the most popular JJK ships, including info on which are canon, which are totally fan-created, and which fall somewhere in the middle, with insights from an anime expert.

Fan-Favorite Ships in JJK

Anime expert Elijah Martinez says some of the most popular JJK ships are Geto x Gojo and Maki x Yuta. Some ships are canon or canonically supported, like Kinji x Kirara, Rika x Yuji, Choso x Yuki, and Mechamaru x Miwa. Other popular pairings, like Yuji x Megumi and Gojo x Utahime, are fan-created.

Their intimate friendship is the natural jumping-off point for a ship, and the end of their friendship feels more like a breakup.
- Is it canon? Not really. The bond between these two was strong, and some fans feel that the story hints at something deeper than friendship. However, this dynamic is never fully explored in the manga or anime, and both characters eventually die—so there’s not much chance they’ll reunite later.

In a flashback, Choso and Yuki are shown at a bar, where Choso tearfully confesses his conflicted feelings about being human, while Yuki comforts him. Satoru Gojo is Yuji Itadori’s teacher, and there’s a 13-year age gap between the two. But that hasn’t stopped it from being one of the most popular fan-fic ships out of all the JJK characters.^{[12]

YutaRika: Yuta Okkotsu x Rika Orimoto
